Starting a Lean Startup Circle Group in your area is simple!

There are no dues or requirements aside from a desire to discuss and share your experiences building companies with others. There are groups of 3,000 and groups of 10, size doesn't matter!

Who runs Lean Startup Circle?

Your group is run by you!

While Eric Ries allows the use of the Lean Startup trademark, often speaks at meetups free of charge, and publicly supports the groups, he is not involved in the management or make decisions for any of the groups.

Global Support

There is no official global support, however you are welcome to use any of the assets on this wiki. This includes:

Please note that this wiki hasn't been updated in a few years. So please use your own judgement when using things.

Is there a Business Model?

As meetup groups are organized independently, the business models vary by group and many are simply non-profit. Some organizers do charge membership dues, fees at events, etc. You are free to create whatever model makes sense to you. This might include:

  • Charging event fees;
  • Charging membership dues;
  • Sponsorship;
  • Advertising;
  • Lead generation for a for-profit company;
  • etc.

There are currently no requirements or global dues for the organization and there are no plans to change that in the foreseeable future. However, there is some debate as to how to improve the global assets and how to support the cash requirements.

Ok? Let's get started!
